Winter Energy Payment
The Winter Energy Payment (WEP) helps with power bills during the colder months. It's paid automatically from 1 May to 1 October (22 weeks) to people already receiving a main MSD benefit or NZ Super/Veteran's Pension. You can't apply for WEP on its own — eligibility is a by-product of already being on a qualifying payment.
What is this?
